Set Up Web Hosting1 N4 e) V3 m0 F" H, V# N* V
Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
; T2 V/ F" ~* ^& k+ x( dabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared- }2 t& W) `! ~" t0 [# w+ q
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
- z3 x5 ?* W/ k+ T c( i7 gwhoever else is on the same server as you./ h2 r% ^7 J' e, n! H
Speed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast/ b7 g! u( A( ` [8 W `- l
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
5 F9 i9 s: x2 N/ U+ C- |& z; Yseconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.# O: G% @% d9 c0 `
To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a- H. }$ Y2 J9 I; p; ~
house full of roommates (hosting customers).* g2 j0 X0 _1 N5 f+ g
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside

, p: Y4 W' e' Afit.

the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate* \9 U0 [- A$ u. T
their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
6 \( f0 I7 X! c4 `* ?If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
% n1 c* V. I$ W7 tany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic./ U" N- O/ g8 G+ G6 Z$ ^
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space, r/ R0 S) r9 z4 i
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is9 d: H; q' e5 [' V+ d8 F; P# X
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.
& Y; J( y1 q4 p9 O) {+ }) @9 ?1 jA dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources$ b8 r/ S9 E* v) G9 J( t8 n' R: ?
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more
( s$ @9 x) W7 e1 C" W3 }' [traffic, faster.
% h: y( l) R5 ?4 N% oAt the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
