/ K3 g" o1 I. p S7 a3 HGetting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said& ?4 q* ?" s5 l% z: N2 C
about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared8 ?& a3 f3 @3 C/ F" A ?' n% Z
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
, g" j7 N; i' _whoever else is on the same server as you.
0 i& |3 a- C! A) s3 f+ fSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
# {( Z# t/ i$ z' `6 [: e5 r1 eenough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 35 G& B) F1 n- Z& p1 c: i# w, {& M
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.& B# N9 t3 j, ?. O- ^% @2 d. }
To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a0 X; W8 S* z+ Z+ U- P$ H7 `) H0 x
house full of roommates (hosting customers).
# e% C5 c# Q* A2 o2 t/ HIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside

2 P- q# u, A+ g" r& E2 j% w3 nSay your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than& h- ?8 @( C9 ]) ~

their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.( |1 h) J( a* g
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For' Q2 @& o0 b3 l) F! J6 K- R9 P Z. }+ G
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.
+ X+ }( R- }3 O- ]In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space

partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.3 ^" G1 `* a* W% M4 e
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources% `% O" D4 h& W) r1 o9 Q" ~
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more
% k& y( Z0 n0 ` Z2 Ttraffic, faster.
