Set Up Web Hosting. f b% J& c" w6 k, N8 y6 J
Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
I% s& X6 E' W( o( ^& Pabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared; o' V4 y2 G6 C/ S
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
& @# Z$ j5 K" p2 Iwhoever else is on the same server as you.
& x- @5 Z, w, m, a1 A* o( s1 j5 uSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast l1 K: s( N1 A% }% b7 d6 |+ @
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
7 s& J) V$ Y2 N3 u& J, U. y0 eseconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.6 k! d$ }9 d: D- u$ |# H
To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a
( b- H, M+ o# nhouse full of roommates (hosting customers).; T* M$ H( U9 y- ?% _7 j) R
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside- L+ o# `2 W+ I4 j0 z/ |

their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.1 f, Q9 P& }% s) Y( N0 S
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
" R9 l$ k0 x% R2 R( @' Qany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic., |- A6 k4 h1 f/ ]
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space- B' q: z$ A! k4 ?+ B$ T: J5 `7 Y
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is
; E) J# ?* b* j7 O5 ypartitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.
# s* u" N6 A3 s, e8 M6 j3 z1 pA dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources, j3 A% R5 ?2 R7 h* D

traffic, faster.
7 d$ e# S* H* H/ i8 \5 B4 wAt the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server./ v$ V9 `; F7 G; w+ Z
