Set Up Web Hosting# ~' m R4 A/ ]( z( }, h" N) j3 y. ~
Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said8 T$ y" i) }' U. s! u* ^$ I' l
about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
& \+ W+ b8 q v/ Zhost for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with( a2 }( `3 X+ G
whoever else is on the same server as you.
/ q3 U. `) H9 k7 ~+ c) S& sSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
, I# R4 I- s5 O; g7 Oenough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3( D5 l2 y7 ^- L# A- d w
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck. r9 [. c" i2 a v7 \
To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a" V- g) m$ I8 \# n& A
house full of roommates (hosting customers).
* e. }6 p9 a- [1 t! G! l1 p) V7 nIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside
# n: I% y! H$ c, C, C( @2 t0 Sthe fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will

the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
! _, m* N+ E- G& |# ytheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of." V2 j" a; t, _7 L/ q; R1 N
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For. V6 [$ M+ _. p
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.) D6 A" f Z4 G. ^# s9 u. t
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space
, T y7 Z) \2 r1 Ninside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is
0 m; n1 s+ Q, C0 C3 Y0 ], Cpartitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.
9 t1 X0 ^* L0 M7 k. M, `A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources5 Z$ |2 P& R. W, S4 u+ y, B+ \
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more
( @9 {- z) d0 l6 c/ Utraffic, faster.$ @) }9 u7 B4 _/ `0 B& x1 p0 e
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.

Domain Names for PPV
7 B9 {7 _; [4 J3 {% ZOnce you buy your hosting it's time to also buy a domain name and get it on your hosting. This is

Oftentimes people wonder if they should have a specific domain name or a generic one. One generic,
