Set Up Web Hosting
3 z/ B7 d) ?) C4 V; uGetting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said% e+ h8 q% k# [
about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
+ R, X3 h2 c: e! phost for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with ?2 ^$ Z) [: C$ X/ R
whoever else is on the same server as you.
' ^) K, }5 r' aSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
; u- n% ]# ^2 k: w3 R4 [9 Nenough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
4 p" A. h% l; K2 h" `seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
& t# }& c2 W( Y9 BTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a5 h+ a) }3 y |. n7 n7 j
house full of roommates (hosting customers).
$ E! d: f) ~- H, }* X bIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside! q w) ^# {( e9 u$ u: v; z- v
the fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will
; b I% N1 @ w* J& v* tfit.* ` [9 m& f+ \
Say your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than
& R" y; c" F& Z% uthe rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
) Q$ C; A5 E8 F, C' Ktheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.2 e1 B8 f* p$ Z9 Y+ L% T
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For% ]; K" o. l: |" [$ @& D
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.7 D) U2 K$ Y0 C0 a; f& R
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space7 ~$ j0 n( T5 ?) ~8 v, ~

partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.5 ?* B1 i! \- h v0 G: p) }* x* ~
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources) v q' i$ R: {) q5 h$ u3 S
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more. L) w, R; [2 y4 n" ~8 q" R
