. Q& N! V! j) R, jSet Up Web Hosting: W1 K9 _, K" b" Z/ h$ B
Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said5 k ~2 {+ w2 D! j
about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
5 V5 o) M; j0 \host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with8 b) `" c8 Y: ] b2 S
whoever else is on the same server as you.
2 o* R) d A. w* B% M& B; ^. m$ uSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast' k. W, l p4 E
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
8 s& ^# X5 }+ [1 e& L) Q$ W% Mseconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
6 S: @8 P8 A* y, o6 I! c2 pTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a
8 c5 @/ ]& z- m, W0 f: ehouse full of roommates (hosting customers).
( f* y- r, ]% oIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside

their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
- k7 U% s9 a# B- I5 t J1 NIf you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
& a/ S9 ?2 G) |$ R ]1 _4 _any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.* Z0 ]" n3 ?2 y% c/ l+ a
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space
% t1 a2 {3 {) B- P) Pinside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is8 w6 K/ m- g) t( M/ B
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.& S& j2 k+ h; u
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources
