Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
% u: h8 ?1 C' K0 p" c) L3 Dabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared- Z% ~+ P4 H$ f; z ?

8 h. U2 @5 J- O: k5 H( v2 Lwhoever else is on the same server as you.; N( c- V6 ~2 N/ N
Speed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast2 \$ M& W0 S" k4 {$ c; s$ R K
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 31 R5 j" @, Q' K
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.* V5 y+ I; t# _; c W8 {4 z5 Y
To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a0 _* c1 w% |8 {6 h( h/ N Q5 \
house full of roommates (hosting customers)., z) s+ k7 Y& s9 u& x
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside0 u4 {. V8 |5 v/ O
the fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will
9 e' f0 q4 q9 _& y; U5 P B) |fit.. h9 @2 c% `% a; G! v6 Y
Say your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than6 n$ o( ~0 c- C
the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate8 R1 G; G9 f, i& C; H. Z
their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
, k, y2 [* A4 d8 C% i, s2 M- ]If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
7 Z8 e6 J3 N uany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.+ r) i/ n, j) c- I! o- q5 [+ S
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space; L2 A3 Y+ x4 e+ f( F7 q3 y
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is t; C q! e& b, N0 S9 p
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.: i: |3 _# a/ q
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources' Y8 x5 ?8 S6 {# h5 B
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more! W5 H' r; [# \& S8 N
traffic, faster. Y; R, R: s3 C
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
