Set Up Web Hosting/ z- c9 K' ^) F& t* s9 C' e! K4 u
Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
9 `+ R2 E. ]# @) }about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
; k8 C6 l$ }; `, ^1 dhost for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with* ` P$ s9 [' x% P+ Q8 v. X" f, Q
whoever else is on the same server as you.
* P/ v% U8 K$ t/ jSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
$ j( h: ^/ l% @& Oenough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3& B' O1 O* T0 p* o
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
3 r# b' `' l6 j1 A9 n$ S$ u$ q6 KTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a
I7 i/ y7 X7 m' shouse full of roommates (hosting customers).
5 H5 x' |! d! B/ G2 @3 x+ cIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside/ D0 _: M- y8 c8 Q j
the fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will
( s! z& Z$ j& pfit.
4 \0 r4 F# ?& q; ?1 J4 \Say your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than
4 P9 R8 G7 \3 B% mthe rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
% l$ y; x: J6 l0 X6 g, H0 Htheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.5 e; V: S" R7 q) i# {
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For4 _. `, p. f, u$ T) {. Q! C, ~9 Q
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.
$ t q6 w2 a: p# H6 ?: M6 @! y& D6 PIn the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space+ a! [9 R& Q3 [* @* @4 Y

partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.5 ~4 J. `1 G- g* K, k
