4 Q( l# x& _& ^, e" aGetting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
, n1 _$ L& A6 x8 s2 Zabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared x8 ?2 A- E5 C# k) s+ A/ I1 G" v
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
" n- s) ~( D c# _9 ~# r: p3 Cwhoever else is on the same server as you.4 K8 k$ V4 ]' V, ~+ y! @+ M7 ~8 e; w
Speed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
5 B( f3 q0 N ~: `: y4 v, Oenough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
* p4 x# L) [2 T& O* L6 h. Kseconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
' D! j3 L+ f8 u% {To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a

Say your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than+ Y! X: x$ u4 D6 l; \% g, e' ]6 D+ \
the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
" S2 N8 X1 n% k# `: g6 ztheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.2 G& I7 p1 P' }; b
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For- b' Y8 w8 a: K
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic. F9 j9 f" u$ ^3 h" }2 ^% ?; h
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space: {& L5 j+ h# q9 n9 N, S

partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.7 ?8 F3 a" k4 S* _: k8 Q: s
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources
2 V5 c# q* S ^# C& k8 Fbelong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more
# ?8 K9 @: D3 E: |+ P' a, V2 Etraffic, faster.
: `; A( j+ M( ?; R: [( VAt the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
