Set Up Web Hosting8 T" F' i4 t7 A$ h
Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
1 i" ?' [$ v# h6 n4 fabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared d% g! F4 [8 R! j' i4 @
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
* a! \9 N9 z3 ~0 ]1 Zwhoever else is on the same server as you.( _9 o) X; p3 O- b3 m! p( N
Speed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
2 A7 a n) Z4 q$ q" ?3 ^; henough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3" t) E4 o- y: T1 t- V O; ]. V
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck. ^/ m& F6 ]3 Q: ?
To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a" h% p& Z4 ^1 ?0 q4 j/ n) [9 r
house full of roommates (hosting customers).
+ g- h9 A: u: W" X) wIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside
( i9 m* P w7 ]4 y% z6 s5 y$ xthe fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will- r5 H$ P Q5 J* G) r( F
fit.
& g, M6 B/ U( O$ f' QSay your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than
8 ^ Z5 u8 ?* U s9 w* \the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
) L3 V2 ^. Y# r* `their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
2 ^, y9 \( F. { l9 z! T/ c P, A8 g5 EIf you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For- J% Z' k" w! s" R
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.7 R. b+ H# M0 i* a
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space
1 j% }/ W; L% ninside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is7 ]5 k& @; ]. T8 g
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.
) U$ v1 j5 m( l, p4 p6 q) {A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources

traffic, faster.' O( K! V% V) ^- i' ]: A+ |3 p; ^
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.1 U0 J( Q1 D8 q" O, f/ c* k

6 o; J: x% E3 W/ Q5 w+ H* qOftentimes people wonder if they should have a specific domain name or a generic one. One generic,
