Set Up Web Hosting
0 Z5 X; ]& t& e9 i- M8 J2 mGetting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
+ o% i: L! r+ g+ Q4 K: {about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared+ p2 }$ X, D/ C% ^6 J. M
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
. N% H: P$ t, a4 X8 |whoever else is on the same server as you.
" K+ g8 x9 A" }0 DSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
A1 q7 v7 r$ O" t: Henough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
% [) k1 e9 J6 C5 x+ y h( F/ Iseconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
" |" P+ k6 `- g$ uTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a) [( O9 P' u- i9 f1 }. t9 ]
house full of roommates (hosting customers).
1 V4 Z6 d" b, W: G. ?( TIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside) y) R Y3 Z# @
the fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will

& y) B& ?, b2 \3 [% Itheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.9 q1 z; R% b) i- h8 x& u8 |
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For. O+ w) k1 O& Z0 s" s( Q
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.! w& E, y; ]$ }6 Z- R8 ] ]
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space- F/ W9 j2 c- V% P; D
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is
1 {9 d4 j& ], F* r5 `partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.- ]+ o2 w7 l# Y7 g. x
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources7 G9 p. I* I, J. Z; W6 j8 a
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more
6 ]: {( \. r8 `traffic, faster.( ~ b# n3 {* u4 p/ W
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.1 U7 z! N1 ~' t! i/ l9 h Y3 L; H
