Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
0 @, ]( a8 e% Eabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared. c  Q8 O. j* s0 ~6 F
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with
+ o* c4 P3 f% }4 b2 }9 j' twhoever else is on the same server as you.
- @) x7 X( |) h4 j5 a5 MSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast: M3 K. e6 K6 r5 p
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
! b) X  l+ p7 y+ H+ T0 s- tseconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
9 x; n4 g( j# n) f- FTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a) C# S2 Y' T) @+ C5 B" X8 s0 M
house full of roommates (hosting customers).  \% f$ C" k( i3 q
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside- t0 Q0 m9 E+ ^6 s
the fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will9 ~! u/ \' n! N+ J
fit.
3 D$ G; p  |5 I* l+ OSay your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than/ Q4 i$ H/ U) G
the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
7 G7 y' G4 w: ~5 Btheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.. |% C) f9 S, q' S" o) I
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For4 ^0 Q9 {# h" T7 B1 i. k9 H+ f
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.4 A, Q. d! \$ N# z% N  c
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space4 _0 P6 P- r& W9 h! q" a
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is9 V7 k4 u* h- f6 Y: z" H
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.
) G7 D8 p3 @: iA dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources8 n2 m6 A( U" w* Z* `
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more! z  y4 ?* H. I, V/ z+ K
traffic, faster.4 `7 J7 P9 g, \( G
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
