<p>We are excited to announce that Route 53 DNS Failover now supports + K5 C' ~, B" b+ |. H& I
Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) endpoints. Starting today, you can use " S- u% U# i+ U- `" A- W h
Route 53’s existing health checking and DNS failover features for ; x5 ~* I0 i0 \3 P* s
applications running behind an ELB, to increase redundancy and " q. c+ @0 f7 R- D
availability for these apps.</p> 9 L5 C+ `: w5 q1 Q, v1 b# d/ t" I k

<p>With DNS Failover, Amazon Route 53 can help detect an outage of your . K, L0 e N( m/ ]" B- X+ d$ U% p/ B
website and redirect your end users to alternate locations where your * a$ \: D- l) \- g+ R
application is operating properly. When you enable this feature, Route 4 p# \' B s5 h7 Z t( T6 p

<p>For ELB endpoints, Route 53 evaluates the health of the load balancer 5 X$ P7 w3 _; W9 {3 F; ~
itself and the health of your application running on the EC2 instances 8 R8 S/ o! @7 | V/ E4 u% u
behind it. If any part of the stack goes down, Route 53 detects the v, U) I; F/ ]' N5 c9 k6 L
failure, routes traffic away from the load balancer, and directs traffic / X0 u5 i4 D1 _$ E6 E; [
to other healthy ELB endpoints. Route 53 DNS Failover also supports EC2" ~: m9 \- Z5 _" @5 c
endpoints as well as endpoints located in your own datacenter.</p>/ Q f. U3 e8 x" Y3 `" g, Z
